Spring Break is just not fair!

Remember when you were young and you dreamed of growing up so you could do everything you wanted???  Well....it was all a lie!

What a beautiful day on the lake and as much as I want to blow off work......I grew up!  booo hisssssss

I worked this morning and ran up here to take the kids out for a few hours, so they can spend the night and I can come back after work tomorrow an try again.  We always have the neediest customers during vacation times.

What I wouldnt give for a true carefree vacation!

Hot Day in March!

A unusually hot day certainly isnt the excuse I need for a day on the lake obviously.....but whew its hot!  But I did have a victory aboard......AIR lock!  Thats the reason the water pump for the head and galley would not work.  So much for being timid about burning the pump out running it, I just didnt let it go long enough.  I guess my phobia of not breaking anything on the boat because its 3x more expensive got the best of me.  I must say that good dockmates are a gift from above though.  Just taking a minute to listen saves big boat money.  I aspire to someday handle the balance of my maintenance like these guys.

The First Full Moon Party for 2012!

Yes, it is cold, so here's to hoping for warm weather soon.  We have dragged the kids out in 60 degree weather for fireworks and dinner on the boat.  It is a beautiful night we just were not fast enough to get a slip at the Beach Club docks.  Still this is a good place to be.

BAM! There goes 5 Months!

It is pretty sad when you think that the minute the weather cools and we are not out on our boat there suddenly becomes NOTHING to blog about.  But for the most part............normal drudgery is just not that interesting!
We did get in a few projects and in turn created a few new ones of course!
The shower sump went out on Labor Day weekend,  so we went ahead and replaced the pump and float as well as the sump box.  Overall not that bad of a job once all the parts were chased down.

Continued the neverending application of snaps and fasteners on the new canvas.  I hope that I will have them done someday before I pass away! :)

Removed the anchor and had it straightened, I then installed it on my new anchor rope and chain.

Replace the IAC in both engines.

Replaced ALL of the batteries on the starboard and port side for engines and accessories. (ouch)

Now I need to figure out what is going on with the freshwater pump for the galley and head.  For some reason I am now getting no pressure (and it wasn't that great to start off) but I can hear the pump come on with a "humm".  A MUST fix for the upcoming spring.  Perhaps I can move up to a larger volume pump.
